EDUCATION
I am a post-graduate student at the University of Helsinki majoring in East-Asian studies (sinology), minor studies being sociology and social science history. As part of my Chinese studies I have completed an exchange year in 2006-2007 at Wuhan University in Wuhan, focusing on Chinese language.

I have completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009 and will complete my Master of Arts degree in 2011.
In addition to Finnish, English and Chinese I am a competent speaker of Swedish and German and I have obtained a basic knowledge of French.

WORK EXPERIENCE
03/2010-11/2010    Pavilion Guide and Team leader, Shanghai World EXPO 2010, Finpro
Main duties include explaining the content and message of the exhibition of the Finnish pavilion in the world Expo 2010 Shanghai to pavilion guests, as a representative of Finland, as well as receiving and guiding VIP groups and delegations and media representatives in the pavilion. Other duties include ensuring smooth and safe people flow in and outside of the pavilion.

Duties as a sales assistant in a Finnair Tax free-shop at Helsinki-Vantaa international airport.

In addition I have also worked as a substitute teacher in a primary school.

FUTURE PLANS
As my studies indicate, society, politics and culture are an important part of my future plans, China being the area of my specialty. It has been rather clear since the beginning of my studies that China will play a significant role when discussing about my future career plans. In the future I would like to work whether in societal, political or cultural sector showing my full competence and expertise.

INTERESTS/HOBBIES
My interests are cultures, languages and travelling as well as sports, especially yoga. Music has been an important hobby ever since I started to play the piano.

OTHER
I will move to Beijing in the beginning of November after the Shanghai World EXPO2010 ends.
