Finland at Shanghai World Exhibition EXPO 2010 – come and join us!

The Government of Finland has accepted the invitation of the Chinese Government to participate in the Shanghai World Exhibition Expo 2010. The Ministry of Employment and the Economy, the main financier of the project, has appointed FINPRO to handle project planning and execution. Finland has decided to construct its own pavilion with the aim of creating a pavilion and an exhibition that will stand out in a positive way from the over 200 other pavilions and be an attractive visiting point for the guests of partner organizations and some of the 80 million visitors to the World Exhibition.

Expo’s theme provides for a multitude of approaches

The theme of Expo 2010 is “Better City, Better Life”. Finland’s national theme is based on this. However, the primary focus is on good city life rather than the physical structure of the city. This thematics, although current, extends way beyond the year 2010 and enables numerous approaches. It can be studied, for example, from the social, technological, economic and environmental angles. The primary aim of the Shanghai Expo is to provide a forum for global discussion and, at the same time, to present some concrete solutions for functioning city life.

Your Chinese customers, partners and important decision-makers await your invitation

The most important part of the Finnish pavilion is an exhibition providing the visitors with an experience-based introduction to Finland. The pavilion will also include a shop and a small cafe. After visiting the exhibition, companies and organizations can entertain their guests at the pavilion’s meeting and VIP facilities and present their own messages. These facilities offer excellent surroundings for organizing companies’ customer and contact events and for providing hospitality.

Versatile program for culture and communication

In order to present Finland’s themes and to support participation, we are launching a significant communication drive and a versatile cultural program in China. In addition to the preparation phase, these will continue throughout the duration of Expo. The Finnish National Day during Expo will extend to the entire 300-hectare Expo area and include high quality cultural content.
